Summary of strengths:
Based on the Clinical Skills Self-Assessment, I realized that my strengths fall under Comprehensive psychiatric evaluation skills, Psychotherapeutic Treatment Planning, and Self Assessment skills. I can identify clinical signs and symptoms of psychiatric illness in patients as well as conduct and interpret a comprehensive and interval patient history and physical examination. Besides, I have good skills in conducting and interpreting mental status examinations (MSEs), psychosocial assessments, family psychiatric history, and functional assessments. Under the psychotherapeutic treatment planning domain, I am confident that I can independently provide psychoeducation to patients and their caregivers and promote health promotion and disease prevention interventions in mental health. I have experience in developing SMART goals from my past practicum experiences. Thus, I can also evaluate the outcomes of practicum goals, adjust the plan when needed, and document and reflect on learning experiences from the practicum experience.

Opportunities for growth:
The Clinical Skills Self-Assessment has also made me identify areas I need to improve in the upcoming clinical practicum. These areas include Diagnostic reasoning, Professional skills, Selecting and Implementing screening instruments, and interpreting results. During this practicum, I plan to increase my knowledge of the psychopathology of mental disorders. I will also need to practice more in developing and prioritizing differential diagnoses for the patients I assess and formulate the diagnoses based on the DSM 5. In addition, I need to improve my knowledge of age-related physiological and psychological symptoms and changes. Furthermore, I will need to improve my interprofessional collaboration skills by collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to improve clinical practice in mental health. I also need to learn about the PMHNP scope of practice and practice within it. Moreover, I will need to improve my skills in using screening tools and interpreting results.
